 monon people
I always seem see someone on the side of the path looking at their bike every third or fourth time i ride the monon. I always stop and figure out what is wrong and then tell them that I can't fix it. Should I invest in one of those all in one tools or just do what I have been doing?

 Re: monon people
Doesn't sound like you are the one that needs tools.

 Re: monon people
Always nice to help people out... but some people need to learn to help themselves as well. Carry what you need for your bike. If you start carrying too much, you'll just weigh yourself down.

 Re: monon people
well in conversation they are always like, "this is the first-third time I've rode this bike." So they are not really bikers yet/ they know nothing about bikes. I feel like if they have a shitty experience then they won't end up riding a lot and I would rather have people riding.

I will help when I can, but you should give them advice too. I always carry a 15mm to adjust my wheels/chain tension, but other than that, I just make sure to put my shit together right in the first place. I definitely see where you are coming from though.

 Re: monon people
I was just more commenting on you don't want to carry a rolling bike shop with you at all times. I generally have tubes (for my bike) patches, tools, and a pump. Stopping to help people is a nice thing to do.
